Höfner Model 5 Violin
A student violin made in Germany isn't a relic of the past. With modern technical efficiencies and good old German know-how, the Höfner HOF-5 model is a great step-up violin that uses fully solid, lightly-flamed maple and aged spruce and a shaded golden- brown spirit varnish. This crisp, clean modern look is a refreshing alternative for some people to more heavy “antiquing”. Includes ebony pegs and endbutton, Despiau "C" level French bridge, ebony tailpiece with E tuner, Guarneri model ebony chinrest, and Thomastik Dominant A, D, & G strings with Pirastro Gold Label E (loop end). 4/4, 3/4, & 1/2 sizes available.
For nearly 130 years Höfner of Germany has been producing quality string instruments and bows. Karl Höfner started the company in 1887 in Schönbach, which was the European center of its day for musical instrument production. Over the coming decades, Höfner's business grew to meet global demands, earning a reputation for high-quality craftsmanship and economically-efficient working methods. Now located at Hagenau in Bavaria, Höfner uses the traditional methods of violinmaking and bowmaking, tried and true for generations, to create a wide range of instruments and bows suitable for students as well as professionals.
